At the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Mr. Barnes had the distinction of spending a semester serving as a judicial extern for the Honorable Judge Cathy Bissoon of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and was bestowed with a community service award upon graduation from Pitt Law. As a practicing lawyer, Mr. Barnes dedicated five years of his career serving the public as a prosecuting attorney, initially as an assistant district attorney and later as assistant solicitor general, successfully trying numerous cases; educating peace officer cadets; and prosecuting countless cases in superior, state, magistrate, probate, and juvenile courts.
