About Chris M. Dillon

I'm Chris M. Dillon—an attorney, small business owner, and lifelong resident of Bastrop, Texas. For over 25 years, I've proudly served individuals and families across Texas through my private legal practice, defending their rights and protecting their civil liberties, one client at a time. My roots in this community run deep. As a seventh-generation Texan and 1990 graduate of Bastrop High School, I returned home after completing my education to raise my family, grow my law firm, and give back to the community that raised me. Today, I serve as Vice President of the Bastrop ISD Board of Trustees. Since 2018, I’ve worked with fellow board members to manage rapid district growth, oversee over $500 million in voter-approved bond projects, expand student programs, and increase the graduation rate to an impressive 99%—all while reducing the tax rate. Whether in the courtroom or the boardroom, I lead with integrity, data-driven decision-making, and a steadfast commitment to public service.

By Ryan Katz It is no secret that Artificial Intelligence, or AI, is vastly changing the landscape of many different fields. While the practice of law is certainly not something anybody would want to be taken over by AI in any major way, AI is still a tool which has applications for lawyers. Generative AI can help lawyers brainstorm arguments, organize...

Oral Fluid Testing: Roadside vs. Evidential Analyses

09/02/2025

Written by Ashley M. Hart As cannabis is being decriminalized in many states, there has been increased interest in rapid roadside tests to detect THC and other substances for intoxicated driving charges. A majority of states now have oral fluid testing in some form: roadside (presumptive) or evidential (confirmed in a lab).
