About John M. Ogden
Attorney John M. Ogden is a 1993, graduate of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Cum Laude. He graduated from York College of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1988 and an Associates of Science Degree in 1987. Attorney Ogden his practice with the Law firm of Kain, Brown and Roberts, which later became Rhoads and Sinon, LLP. In 1999, eh formed the Law Firm of Holt & Ogden, LLP with Farley Holt, Esquire. In 2012, he formed the Law Office of John M. Ogden. Attorney Ogden took a DUI case to the PA Supreme Court. The Defendant was arrested for DUI. Later that night he was arrested for another DUI that same night. The court considered it to be a second offense with higher penalties. The court stated for purposes of applying the recidivist sentencing provisions of the DUI statute, when presented with two or more DUI violations, a sentencing court had to first ascertain whether conviction on the first violation occurred before the offender committed the subsequent offense. If no conviction on that previous violation had occurred by the time the offender committed the subsequent violation, the offender could not be sentenced as a recidivist on the subsequent violation. Attorney Ogden served his country in the Army National Guard, enlisting as a private in 1983 and becoming a commissioned officer in 1987, serving as the acting Commander of his Battery. Attorney Ogden practices primarily in the area of DUI Defense, General Criminal Defense, DUI, Driver’s License Matters, Real Estate and Zoning and Business Law. Attorney Ogden is a member of the NCDD, the Pennsylvania Association of Drunk Driving Defense, The National Trial Lawyers, The American Society of Legal Advocates, the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Driving Under the Influence Defense Lawyers Association.
