About Michael D. Litman

Michael Litman am an experienced criminal & DWI defense attorney practicing in Westchester County as well as the NYC metro area, including the Bronx, Queens, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Rockland and Nassau Counties. Michael provide zealous representation for people charged with felony and misdemeanor offenses, including DWI/DUI, assault, larceny, weapon possession, drug crimes, robbery, burglary, identity theft, internet crimes, and sex crimes. Michael began practicing criminal defense in 2007, and since then he has represented hundreds of clients, and spent thousands of hours in court. He knows what to expect from the judges and prosecutors, and is in constant contact with his clients so they know what to expect and have a full understanding of their case. Michael went to law school for the purpose of practicing in the criminal law field, doing internships in both prosecutor's and public defender's offices. After law school Michael worked as a staff attorney at the Nassau County Legal Aid Society, where he gained a lot of experience by being thrown in the fire of litigation shortly after joining the office. By the end of his three-and-a-half year tenure there, he was handling most of the felony DWI cases and DWI litigation for the office. After Michael left Legal Aid, he went to work in private practice, initially working with an immigration firm in Queens, representing all of the firm's clients in their criminal matters as well as some immigration hearings in federal court. He then left the immigration law firm to join a small firm in Westchester County that handled criminal defense and personal injury. Michael handled all of the firm's criminal defense cases, appearing in local courts all around Westchester, Rockland, and Putnam Counties, as well as the NYC metro area. He also handled a significant caseload of personal injury, civil rights and commercial litigation cases. After three years there, Michael left to start his own firm in July 2014, focusing on criminal and DWI/DUI defense. Michael fights hard for his clients' rights, and he provides them with the attention their cases deserve. Michael is committed to making sure his clients have a full understanding of their cases, as well as the ability to reach him anytime to ask questions or raise concerns. Michael's focus is on getting the best possible result for his clients and making sure they avoid the pitfalls of the criminal justice system.
