The Alcohol and Drug Testing Devices Task Force gathers and provides members with information related to devices used by law enforcement for alcohol and drug testing, including breath, oral fluids, and transdermal monitoring. The task force informs members about issues related to reliability and accuracy. The Task force may also produce articles and case reviews for the NCDD Journal and blog, as well as topics for webinars and seminars.

NCDD National Task Force: Amicus/Research Committee

The Amicus/Research Committee represents the National College for DUI Defense and the Board’s positions in the highest courts of the nation. NCDD’s goals include the protection of citizens’ rights as they relate to impaired driving cases. These rights include privacy rights, Fourth Amendment rights, confrontation rights, promotion of accurate and reliable testing, unrestricted access to evidence and overall justice in proceedings. The Amicus/Research Committee also may supply articles to the NCDD Journal on issues related to the committee such as research and writing, assisting members as appropriate, as well as suggesting topics for seminars and webinars.

NCDD National Task Force: Autonomous Cars and Transportation Technology Committee

The Autonomous Cars and Transportation Technology Task Force provides members with information regarding the advancement of self-driving vehicle technology, passive alcohol and drug testing technology, and other developments that may affect impaired driving law and practice. The Task Force will publish articles, blogs, and make webinar presentations.

The purpose of the NCDD Collateral Damage Task Force is to have one source for members to access collateral effects of a DUI conviction. These effects the effect a DUI on out of state drivers’ licenses, professional licenses and employment, expungement, gun possession, immigration/travel, and military service.

NCDD National Task Force: Diversity Committee

The Diversity Committee strives to promote inclusion regardless of a person’s race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity. The Committee also seeks to cultivate awareness of the importance of embracing individuals with differing opinions and beliefs. The Diversity Committee offers mentoring and scholarship opportunities, and seeks to foster better communication between NCDD members and Regents. The College welcomes all members who would like to serve on the Committee, and is always looking for individuals interested in speaking, writing articles, or serving as a state delegate. NCDD National Task Force: Ethics Committee

The NCDD Ethics Taskforce is designed to provide relevant information to the DUI practitioner on ethics issues and developing trends in ethics nationwide as they relate to the practice of law and the specialization of DUI defense. The task force will prepare and present seminars (or participate in NCDD seminars) on ethics for the DUI practitioner and write ethics articles for the NCDD journal. The goal is to provide members with the information they need to provide the top-notch DUI defense while staying within the rules governing professional responsibility as defined by the various state and federal bar organizations under which we all are licensed.

NCDD National Task Force: Public Defender Committee

NCDD’s Public Defender Task Force is committed to providing public defenders and public defender agencies with top quality training in felony and misdemeanor DUI defense issues, resources for litigating DUI issues, and assistance when public defenders are threatened with adverse action by prosecutors and judges in these cases. We understand how necessary and important the work performed by public defenders is to those without the resources to hire private council, and we are committed to ensuring that these attorneys and their clientele are not disadvantaged by a lack of training or resources. NCDD offers free trainings for Public Defenders and Public Defender Agencies. NCDD National Task Force: State Delegate Mentorship Committee

The Mentorship Committee Task Force provides members with a direct one-on-one availability to talk with a dedicated DUI Defense attorney when needed for guidance, questions, brainstorming, and managing the daily dilemmas of running a practice.
